Just One Look
It's a "Just One Look" (Doris Troy, ca. 1963) kind of day.
No falling (literally or metaphorically) in my life however... although it's only 5pm.

Genetics Are Fun
I was going through my photos today and found two instances (from the same event) in which I think I look perfectly like my mother and my father.
This one, I think I look EXACTLY like my mom:
…and this one I look a lot like my dad:
Thesedays, anyone who knows and/or has seen my mom says I'm a carbon copy. I agree, but then again please consider my dad suffers from male-pattern baldness (sorry Daddy, but it's true!)
I love that dependent on the camera angle, I look like a spitting image of both of my parents.
Genes are fun.

So Very Sleepy
Week eight of Fall quarter. Two words: sleep deprivation. I feel like this guy most of the time:
Only five more days until Thanksgiving break and SAN FRANCISCO!

The Picture Show
Sorry to all my lovely readers. Things have been crazy this past week and the blog unintentionally hit the back burner. Nothing much to say tonight, but I want to share one of my latest finds with you.
NPR's The Picture Show blog has consistently made me smile this week. A post that especially caught my eye is called Playing With The Moon, which showcases French photographer Laurent Laveder's work.
I highly recommend checking out his website. Sadly, my french is a bit rusty. Until the day comes I break out my french books and brush up, the book of poetry that showcases his photographs of the moon stays on its virtual shelf. Donc, une autre fois.

So It Turns Out I Actually Like Country Music
I always resisted country music. Why? I really have no idea. Neither of my parents are huge fans and thus, I didn’t really grow up listening to it. Instead, I got Pink Floyd, The Beatles and a smattering of classic rock from the 60s and 70s. Mom and Pop have good taste in music, so I naturally just fell into their music persuasions. That is until the boy band situation of the early 90s emerged, ha.
For the past five years or so I’ve been slowly getting into country music. Once again, I can’t really explain why or how, but it probably started with Rascal Flatts and their pop country style. I couldn’t help but like it, it’s so catchy! From there I started listening to other pop country bands/singers and my interest kept growing. I actually LIKED country music. Oops.
These days I listen to just about everything, excluding screamo and heavy metal. I happen to like my eardrums, thankyouverymuch.
Currently, my new favorite in the country music realm is Josh Turner. Have a listen:
Who are your favorites?
(I also really like Lady Antebellum, Dierks Bentley, The Band Perry and Brad Paisley).

Who Doesn't Love Bubbles?
I'm lacking anything witty or exciting to say this evening, so I bring you bubbles instead:
I am passing these wonderful photos along via Cup of Jo who posted them last week. If you have a few seconds to spare, I highly recommend checking out her blog. You won't regret it.
(Bubble images by Richard Heeks, All Bubbles).

A Quick and Random Update
Great news- I'm basically all moved into the new house! With the help of friends this past Friday, we packed up my life and drove it across town to the new digs. Of course, with a new house comes the inevitable window in which I'm without internet. It never ceases to amaze me how productive I can be without the ability to peruse the web. (Currently using the wi-fi at my favorite little coffee shop in town)...I need to get my fix somewhere!
Here's to hoping this productivity lasts! (I'm betting it will until I have internet again this coming Tuesday)- I blame Hulu.com for a lot of my wasted time these days.
Also, as a completely random tangent- I've been obsessed with this song since I downloaded it about a month ago:

Yep, It's Monday

1). Woke up, showered and promptly dropped my hairbrush in the toilet.
2). Got to the gallery and started unpacking the artwork we've received. Subsequently left the art closet and discovered I'd been trailing a wad of tape and paper stuck to the bottom of my shoe.
3.) Went to the post office and waited 30 minutes in line. Quite impressive in a city/town of 130,000 people.
4.)After said trip to the post office, I decided to make a cup of well deserved afternoon coffee...only to spill the used grounds on my kitchen floor.
It's only 6:30, but I'm thinking I should go to bed before I hurt myself!

Throwback Thursday: Long vs. Short Hair
As of late, I've been missing my long hair. This always happens to me. Whenever I decide to make a drastic change with my hair, about three months later I'm ready for another change (usually back to the way it was originally). I cut about 8"+ of my hair back in January and don't get me wrong, I loved the change, but now there are times I wish I could just throw it all back in a ponytail.
Check the before and after difference:

For now, my plan is to leave it grow until it gets to a medium bob length (i.e. grazing my shoulder). We'll see what I want when it gets that long- either I'll keep it that length or grow it out again, ha. Sometimes I'm so indecisive it's ridiculous.
