King Estate Winery

A week ago, my close friends and I made an excursion to a wonderful winery in the beautiful Willamette Valley. King Estate Winery is primarily known for its Pinot Noir (like most of the Willamette Valley wineries) and its Pinot Gris.

We had a wonderful lunch in which I ordered a glass of the Acrobat Pinot Noir. I am by no means a professional wine connoisseur, but it was an enjoyable experience. A light Pinot Noir, which most of the Oregon Pinots are, the Acrobat boasted a sweet, yet spicy body with a modest lingering tannin taste. Overall, quite delicious.

Ironically, I found the (cheaper) Next label of Pinot Noir more enjoyable. Also ironic I bought a bottle of it at Costco the week before, not aware it was from King Estate. To me, this wine had a better balance between the fruity, spicy and tannin taste. Highly recommend it!

*For those of you back in the Midwest, I believe King Estate wine can be purchased at World Market.
