A Long Day of Introductions

Today: graduate school orientation. Two words: long day.

Trust me I'm not complaining, it's just been awhile since I've had to sit through a day full of introductions and overviews. With that said however, I'm very happy with the atmosphere of the program.

The U of O is on a trimester system, which means most classes are limited to a mere ten week block. This concept is crazy to me- being used to a long semester (which, admittedly, sometimes seemed never-ending) I'm afraid I'm going to feel like I'm speed-learning with this new schedule!

Speaking of schedule, I also registered for classes today, finally. Being one of the newbies (there are about twenty-five of us) we're pretty much taking core curriculum classes for the fall term. As a graduate student, I thought I was finally going to escape the issue of wanting to enroll in a closed class, but alas, I was proven wrong. So here's what I did register for:
  • Cultural Administration
  • Issues in Arts Management
  • Information & Design Presentation
  • Cultural Policy
Here's to hoping Managing Non Profit Organizations opens up!
